A
story based on Gila Almagor's autobiographical book. A group
of teenagers who survived the Holocaust, in a boarding school
in the early 50's. They struggle with their painful memories.
The place where they feel secure is under the Dommim tree.
The story takes place in an orphan village of holocaust survivors
and other Israeli youths with problems. During the day they
are like all other adolescents, but at night the painful number
of stories are woven in this powerful and agonizing story
of this very special group of young people. Avia - was born
in Israel and looks for clues to her late father's identity,
resisting the influences of her mentally ill mother. Yorek-born
in Poland, a holocaust survivor, trying to win Avia's heart.
Yula- finds out that the father she though dead, is alive.
Nira-a weird girl who has last her memory. The group spurns
her while she tries to gain their friendship. When two holocaust
survivors arrive in the village claiming they are her parents,
she denies it.
