Pinchas
Rutenberg was a visionary, a man of contradictions. His past
in Russia remains clad in mystery. His talents for business
and charming world leaders into backing his "dreams" add up
to an intriguing personality. The story spins from the Jordan
river where he looks to set up the first power plant in the
region to the London parlours, where he tries to gain Churchil's
approval for the power plant. He is surrounded by young devotees
who follow him from the fashionable London parties to the
arid banks of the Jordan river. The terrible floods of winter
1931 threaten to drown the power plant but Rotenberg is determined
to rescue his "dream".
